Nav system & install

I'm looking to install a navigation system in my '00 Land Cruiser; does anyone have any recomendations on a good system? I've been focusing on the Pioneer AVIC-D2 but perhaps there are better units out there. (Not interested in watching DVD's just want to add Nav for my wife and for long trips.)

Also, I'd like to try and install myself - I've installed my own systems before (as in many years ago) but it's been a while and I don't want to get in over my head installing a nav system.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the LC or can you buy a wiring harness to adapt the AVIC D2 wiring to Toyota wiring/plugs? I understand the LC already has an amp so would like to be able to continue to use it too.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

USA adding a nav system?

did you ever get a reply on this question? i just acquired a 2006 LC and don't like the stock Nav unit. I am wondering if any knows if i can replace it wth something of better quality; specifically, i need to know if there is something that would still allow me to work the ac/heating and other non-video, non-NAV/radio/backup camera functions.

thanks for your help.
