4th Generation lots of questions in one post so beware =)

hey guys...I love bass and i need more then what i have now...im running two 12 inch audiobahn 800 watts max each and i have a 2-channel 1600 watt audiobahn amp....they sound awesome but im looking for more...so here it goes lol

1.)im looking for two 12inch subs and an amp so which subs and amp combo would be good?
2.)i found two 12's that max out at 2000 watts each and also i found a 4000 watt 2-channel amp to power them, but what would i need in terms of alternators to power all that wattage and if possible to power it where can i find a new alternator? also found two 12's that max out at 1500 watts each and a 3000 watt 2-channel amp so same question.

The help would be greatly appreciated

definatly need to consider RMS power (continuous power) over MAX power.

Max power ratings are not something you want to base your equipment off of.

We somewhat need to know a round about what you are prepared to spend, to give you an accurate answer.

So you are looking for both an amp, and two 12" subs? What type of music do you listen to? I'm assuming mainly rap if your looking for intense bass. You may also want to consider getting a ported box made. or maybe getting one 15" with more power, hell maybe even an 18"

Alternator also should really be a problem if you havent had much with what you had. But if you are concerned there are plenty of places that will make alternators. There is also a 130A alternator in certain highlanders if you wanted to go in that direction. That would be the differenceof like 150 to about 400 dollars.

As from what you said about the equipment you were thinking of getting, you obviously are lacking quite a bit in audio knowledge (not a bad thing) have to start somewhere but...

If you give us an amount of money you would like to spend we can help you out. You migh talso wanna try looking on the internet, ebay has a few good deals. Also you can try out sounddomain.com.

In my opinion though, anything we offer to you now, will be leaps and bounds better then your audiobahns.

alright well i guess i can spend up too $600 all together give or take a few.

yeah rap is my main music preference but i listen to everything including metal and such. and yeah im looking for two 12's but if i could be set up with a single 12 or 15 that can hit really hard and seem like two 12's then hell yeah ill do that lol
umm with the alternator im a little bit scared cause the lights flicker a little bit right now so if im upgrading idk whats gunna happen but yeah ill look into a more powerful one.
and yes my knowlege is quite low hence why i posted here so im here to learn boys so teach me well lol

if you're looking for bass, how about the JL 13w7? but that sub is expensive. if thats out of your range, I would suggest going with fosgate power T1 (HELLA LOUD) or even a alpine type X. and also, when you get amp for it, in my experience, dont go for max wattage, and all of that.. go for the RMS(continuous) wattage. and also, they type of box you use is also important also. i would recommend a sealed box to go with the 2 that i mentioned above. as for amps, i'm running a alpine mrd m-1005 with a JL w6v2 12", and to be honest, its very loud. i went through quite a few amps before (hifonics, kicker, fosgate, diamond audio, and a few knockoff brands) and I would recommend alpine the best. or even JL, but they are pricey though.

i'm not sure if you need speakers too, so ill put in my two cents as well.

as for speakers go, it depends what your looking for. if you want pure clear sound, i suggest go with eclipse, or diamond audio, or maybe even DLS. if you want bass, i would definitely recommend fosgate (which im currently using), or the alpine type-R. but like all speakers, you need a 4 channel amp to power it to make it sound its best. i would go with a eclipse amp, or a phoenix gold amp (their 4 channel amps are affordable compared to others).

anyone care to agree/disagree? this could be fun lol

good luck on building your system. i would check my local craigslist, or recycler, or a ad's site, or maybe even ebay. sometimes you might just find a good deal.

I just want to get something straight. Your budget is $600-$800? That's really hard to piece a complete system for that price especially when your asking for good quality products.

For Example, a JL Audio W7 is about $1 per Watt RMS.

Correct me if I'm wrong but $600 is too little.

I spent $2000 on my system. Main components are as follows.
Alpine CDA-9855
Rockford Fosgate P3001
Pioneer TS-W256C (2x)

I didn't list much but my main point is that I went with cheaper subwoofers with an amp to match. I didn't go for the SPL that you're asking. So the more SPL you want I'd say the more $$$ you gotta cough up. Plus, how much SPL can your ears really take?

Wow, and if you paid $2000 dollars for your equipment, you got straight up jacked.

You can get a w7 for a pretty respectable price if you dont go brand new but I would go for something different.

If I was gonna go all out money wise, a brand new 06 RE 12" XXX in a ported box.. yummy..

But regardless... This guy is just looking for subs and an amp fella, not the whole thing. Read his post first.

  • Remote Punch Bass Boost
  • Power Indicator and Protection LEDs

and the specs on the Alpine sub are

Dual 4-ohm voice coils
  • 500-1,000 watts RMS
  • 3,000 watts peak power handling
  • Frequency Response: 20Hz - 200Hz

that amp would work, but a mono block amp would work better. unless your planning to get dual subs.

how much is that 2 going to cost you? i mean if its a good price, then i say go for it. if you can actually get your hands on the older model fosgates amps, you should go for those, as i now am regretting selling my punch and power series amps now.
