I upgraded to another amp and when I tried to install it, the fuses kept blowing....here are the details...
New (bought used) amp - total fuse rating - 160 amp (4x40)
Inline Fuse at battery - 60 amp
Distribution Block (2x60 amp)
Is the problem at the battery with the inline fuse or is there a short in the amp. The original amp had a 60amp fuse in it, where at the total in the newer amp is 160.

You left out an important detail-which fuses keep blowing?
Do you have the battery ground connected when you put the fuse in and if so does the fuse blow immediately? If that is the case disconnect the ground cable, install the fuse and then reconnect the ground cable. If the fuse blows when you connect the ground cable you most likely have a short in the power wire (probably not the amp since you said the fuse only blows at the battery, correct?).
Old amplifier = 60 amp, new = 240 amp total (4x60). The fuse is 60 amps. Are you trying to draw 240 amps through a 60 amp fuse? Unless you have a high output alternator, it will be putting 70- 80 amps at around 1500-2000 RPM. The battery will need to pickup the difference.

The battery ground is the last step to connect when I hooked everything up. The fuse blows when I turn the car on and the amp gets power.
