rear speaker install help! 98 rolla

my rear speakers have been blown for about 6 months now, but i was pretty saitsfied with just puttin all the power up to the front ones. a couple days ago my friend who works at best buy bought some cheapo speakers but did not find a use for them and gave them to me! well today i have spent 30 min trying to get the speaker cover off to no avail. does anyone know how i would start this installation? this would be my frist time. also what size are the stock ones. the new ones i have now are 6.5.... if they dont fit im not even gong to bother.

thanks!

The stock speakers are 6.5" and those should fit right in.

If the 98 is anything like my 94 (hopefully it is because the 98 just has an updated 93-97 interior), if you pop off the rear seat bottom cushion (just pull up on the front of it), you can access the bolts to remove the seatback (no folding seats) or the side cushions (w/ folding seats). Then, you have to remove the center brake light and then the rear deck will pop off.

A short phillips screwdriver will be your best friend for the rear 2 screws that hold the speaker in.
