Good HU?

Hello! I've got a 99' 4Runner and just replaced the stock speakers with 6-1/2 Pioneer TS-G671M in the front doors, and 5-1/4 TS-G1341R in the rear doors. They don't seem much clearer or louder than the stocks unfortunately. Would installing a new HU help with the sound quality? Any recommends? I do like the Pioneer DEH-P4800MP. I'm looking to spend around $150.
Thanks!

Do you think it would have enough power to push the front and rear door speakers? Or do I need a an amp?

Is the sound and clarity of even cheaper components that much of an improvement? I don't know much about car audio. The speakers I just got seem to have a light distorted crackle sound when listening to music. Its not really noticable though unless I have my ear up against the speaker. I made sure the pos & neg wires are hooked up right. I really hope its the fact I'm still using the stock deck.
