What to replace my 97 4 Runner CD player with?

My 97 4 Runner CD player wont read cds. I would like to replace it with another stock one due to the factory amps under the seat. What year CD player can I look for (I think 95-97?) Can I use the newer 99+ model without rewiring?

Thanks!

Installing aftermarket might be a pain if you have to rewire from the amps.

I'm worried about an aftermarket getting it ripped off since we wont remove the faceplate.

The factory has CD & Cassette combo.

I can find a used stock CD for under $100.

The truck has lots of miles so this CD player would only be used for a few years.

You don't have to rewire anything! If your car has a built in Amp, all you have to do is probably just buy a wiring harness and it will take care of the factory amo for you (The factory Amp will still work).

This CD player that you buy doesn't have to go with the car, you can always take it out and plug back the factory one and sell it with the car, an aftermarket deck is not lost money, you can carry it onto your next car, that's why I always encourage friends to buy the top of the line and save themselves money in the future...
