two 10"s or one 12"?

hi. i drive a 97 camry and i'm lookin to upgrade my sound system. first of all, i want a sub/s. what i'm looking for is something that wouldn't take up much trunk space and hits hard enough for me to feel it. should i go with two 10"s or one 12"? i'm thinking about getting that polk momo enclosed 12". thanks.

I have one polk 12 dx series(http://www.mmxpress.com/polk/images/dx104.JPEG) in a custom box(http://www.toyotanation.com/showthre...threadid=16393) that sounds great. It is just enough to give me a nice back massage, but not so much as to make the rearview mirror fall off. Hope this helps.

That's a great choice. I have the gen 1 polk momo(said to be the best!!) in a .88 cu in.(recommended) truck box. I had to make a 1' thick ring to compensate for clearance( shallow box). I'm feeding it @ 375watts(RF Power 750X). lot's of room in trunk. In process of upgrading to dual momo's. check out pic.

If you're worried about room I saw a sub moutned magnet out ina box that was maybe 4 inches deep. It basically covered the backs of the rear seats but took up almost no space at all and looked really cool to boot. I've been toying with the idea of building a box like that for my unimpressive (relative to waht others have) JL 10W0 which happens to hit hard enough just as it is.

two 10's would be able to get louder but one 12 will be able to play lower
