this will make u laugh...(speaker replacement)

Hi
I have 1997 Corolla CE and i decided to replace my factory speakers in front doors...
I'm total noob so this will sound very ridiculous and make you laugh hard.
the only thing that fits in my door is 4" speakers but I got 5.25's from a friend so i had to make myself a new bracket (or whatever it's called). I have no access to mdf neither to cutting tools and the only thing i had at home was cardboard...yes cardboard...I made an exact copy of the original bracket and just made the hole bigger. There was 4 layers of cardboard to make it little stronger Everything seemed to fit and the speaker was pretty tight on the cardboard... Now the question is - Is there any possibility that stuff will get messed up other than the speaker falling off after shutting the door few times lol ?
I mean like connection wise - if anything will overheat and then make the cardboard on fire ???(lol)
This must sound ridiculous - but I'm a noob and I certainly don't want my car to be destroyed b/c some stupid cardboard...
I will appreciate answers (if any)

Thx a lot

Cardboard will not work.

Do you have a pic of the door with the panel off?

There are premade baffles available.

mhm - don't have a pic but i think i know what I'm gonna do - i might just buy 4" speakers and just replace the factory ones and leave the old bracket- i think it would be easier for me and beter for the speaker.
