Well here is the problem. My car broke down i had a few cracked hoses under the hood along with few other parts that needed replacing. Anyways before I took it to the shop my stereo was very loud just the way i liked it. I would turn the volume up to 18 and it was very loud. When the car broke down I didn't drive it for a week and then took it to the shop. They fixed my car but now my stereo plays at very low volume when I turn it even to 20, where before I took it to the shop at volume 20 my ears would be bleeding. Anyways I checked the amp and no settings were not changed. Same thing for the stereo no settings were changed. What can be causing the volume to be so low?
i forgot to mention that the volume stops increasing after 22. My volume goes up to 30 and when I turn it to 23-30 it doesn't get any louder at all. So, 22 is where the volume increasing stops.
I noticed the same thing with my car. My max vol is 35 and it seems like 25-35 sounds exactly the same. Full volume isn't loud at all to me now. My sideview mirrors also used to shake like crazy and now they barely do. Thinking I blew something or i'm just outgrowing the loudness. Maybe i'm just going def

How'd you reset the headunit? I also have an Alpine deck but it's 4 yrs old.
my HU has a tiny little reset button which u can push in with a pin or needle...I just had my car off and held the reset button for few seconds with a needle. After i turned the car on everything was reset and it played loud again.
if your HU doesn't have that tiny button on the face try looking behind the face.
i got a similar problem but mines goes up to bearly audible if its deadquiet with lots of static what you guys do i just installed HU
you might have wired it wrong? check the ground cable. is the static coming from all speakers? are you using an internal amp built into your HU or an external amp?

Now that you mention it I do have a little reset button. But I know for a fact in the past few months I have disconnected my battery which I would assume would do the same thing and I haven't noticed any change.

actually thats what caused the problem. At the repair shop they disconnected my battery and the stereo didn't really reset and gave me that problem. But after the reset button everything was fine again.
