Question line out converters ?!

okay i was talking to my friend because he wants to install some subs in his 2003 honda accord. well if any of you guys been in the 7th gen accords the stock cd players are really integrated into the dash

well there is a dash kit for the car....but it is below the deck down by the shifter....so basically if he were to get a aftermarket deck the stock deck would still be there... so might as well use the stock deck because its a decent deck...

we never checked the back yet but im pretty sure it doesnt have the RCA outs... how would i get a signal to the amp using a stock deck? someone told me line out converters ?

how exactly do they work? and will it work for a amp?

any help is appreciated guys !

The line out converter shown converts the power output (to speakers) from a radio/deck/etc with a built-in amplifier to a leveled preamp signal suitable for an external amp. It can handle 80 watts per channel on a 4-channel system. For more info call the Scosche tech line at 800-363-4490 ext 3 or their website www.scosche.com.

The website has a specifications for what converter fits what car. In general, the converter would be wired into the system in place of the speakers. Then RCA cables run to the amplifier.

You could hook it up like that. Think of the lineout converter as a device that receives the built-in amplifiers output power (say 50W) and outputs a very low power signal suitable for the input section of a remote amp. You cannot input 50W into a remote amp unless it is designed for this. They are designed to input way under 1 watt.

You are converting a high power signal to a low power leveled signal designed for input to an external amp. The device you show I think can handle the output from a 4-channel stereo at 80W per channel.

Make sure you understand the wiring diagram BEFORE installing and operating the system. Again, if you have specific questions, call the manufactures technical support phone line. That is what they are their for. If you are looking for the unit shown on your post, try ebay.
