hey guys i just bought new 6x9's for my back dash and i went to circuit city to have them install them but one of my back seats doesnt fold down...the locking mechanism is broken and they didnt wanna break the seat off so they didnt do the install...i have subs in my trunk and im wondering if its possible if i take the subs out can i get to the 6x9's that way?
That sucks man. My back seat broke too when we were installing my 6x9's. I believe you can still get it off without having the seat down its just a bit harder. I'm going to try because I'm getting rid of my 6x9's too. Actually I'm getting rid of all of it to restart.
Also, no, you won't be able to get to them even if you do move the subs.
I remember once I had a case of motor oil in the trunk and I had to make a panic stop. The case of oil knocked the seat down, but I don't know if it was latched in the first place. You could try getting in the trunk and giving it a kick...
So you have to come from the top to get to them, unless you feel like jigsawing them out.. lol
Also... I have tried giving mine a kick, and it will not budge, mine is like stuck locked or some shit, I'm pretty damn pissed about it too. When good is a fold down seat if it can't even fold down?
hey guys so remember how i said the seat wont go down....well i must say its a tough seat cause i ended up getting angry to the point where i removed the subs from my trunk and took a 30lbs sledge hammer to the back of the seat, and still cant get the freaking thing down.....
Don't even bother with em. With a good front stage and subs you won't even notice them. Save the cash and invest it in your front stage. Any audiophile will tell you the same thing... at least thats what they told me =P
