hey guys there is a problem with my car after 1 year of remote start use. The car would not start with the key but it wil start with a remote start i have the viper 791. i tried disconecting it so see if its the starter kill option from the alarm but it still does not solve the proble. should i take the car to the dealer because its under waranty? i dont think its the remote start problem. what do u guys think

Had the same problem with my 97 Saturn SL2 with a Viper installed. I had the alarm system taken out and that did not resolve the problem. After further checking me and the installer discovered that the "Body Control Module" fuse was blown. Somehow the Viper would get the car started. Changed the fuse and left the alarm system out and all is well. Just my 2 cents.

You need to get to your wiring at the steering column. Check the wires coming out of the brain. There should be purple and green heavy gauge wire. Green goes to the key side, make sure it's connected properly. Purple goes to the starter side. If the green isn't connect but the purple is, the remote start will work fine, but you won't be able to start it by key.
