Gen5 Attn AUDIOPHILES.

I'm looking for an audiophile quality deck. I live in Vancouver, BC and I've looked everywhere and can't find anything decent. Of course, you have your Alpines, Clarion, Pioneers, etc (they are also too flashy in my opinion), but where are the Audiophile quality decks, like Nakamichi, Harmon Kardon, etc. Vancouver use to have these brands of decks, but no longer. All the big chain stores like Future Shop and Best Buy have killed these specialty stores that carry high end car audios. Any way back to my question, where can I find audiophile decks in Vancouver, BC??? Or at least close by. I will even drive to Seattle WA. HELP.

Check out McIntosh, Nakamichi, (Denon, Eclipse, Clarion - high end series only), Alpine F1 series. All of these head units range from $350-1500. Most of these units have similar pre-amp designs with 24 bit DAC, 8X oversampling, Burr-Brown op amps, etc.

I am in the process of installing a sound quality system. Quality parts are being used throughout and the install is simple and designed not to attract attention, but very custom. It is very difficult to get good sound from a car due to poor acoustics. Some vehicles are better than others though, typically luxury vehicles with quiet solid interiors.

They carry some mobile audio equipment, mostly home audio though.

Damnit! I'll get you pics of my Pioneer P880PRS, and you tell me if its "too flashy". I think its dead sexy, and fantastic sounding.
