Amps!

Are there any other good amps other than MTX and Rockford Fosgate? I'm looking for a cheap amp. I can get a Rockford Fosgate 300S for 140 shipped on Ebay. But that's a little much, but I know it'll hit like crazy. I have a Kicker Comp Vr in a sealed box. Just one..it has DVC's and can handle up to 400 if I remember correctly. Are Pheonix Gold good? They are rated really low and are priced pretty high, but I have no idea how well they perform..

Since you have a 12" kicker comp VR you're going to want a mono class D amp and one that can push out more than the recommended power rating. Well, you'll want that if you plan on doing competitions. Remember, the only thing that matters is the RMS rating of the amp.

Well, I don't plan on doing any competitions or anything. I just want something that pounds. I am currently running the Kicker on an Eclipse amp. The amp I have is like made for highs so it doesn't hit as hard. Though it makes my whole trunk rattle, I still think I can push a LOT more from this sub if I had a better amp. Have you ever used any other amps other than Rockford Fosgate and MTX?

Kicker is good. alladin102 has a kicker amp (600.1) on 2 10 compvrs. I think there is a kicker 400.1 that would go perfect with your sub. It's 400 watts @ 1 ohm. And since you're not competing or anything you wouldn't need to go above the recommended RMS.

$140 is a good price for a Rockford Fosgate.

Don't skimp on the amp. You'll just end up hating yourself for it and end up buying something better later on.

Phoneix Gold is good stuff.

You get what you pay for.

At first sight, It looked like that sub wouldn't hit for shit. After i read his description..I was pretty amazed at what i just read. Are they really that powerful? Cause it looks like some cheap ass sub you could find on the streets for 5 bucks that barely hit. Did you win the auction?! Probably going to need like a Rockford Fosgate X7 to run that shit. :p

yeah I won. the MSRP of that sub is $609!

um check the 2nd link for stats on the sub
its a competition sub, the record holder for division 2 (2 12s/1 15) has 2 of those so thats why i was lookin around for em and i found a good price (if it works of course). 1200 watts rms recommended, will definately take more than that

I'm pretty sure the Rockford Fosgate X7 pushes way more than 1k watts. They spent 3 years designing that shit to push the shit outta every sub ever created. You know darn well RF underrates their amp. I've seen the certificates they put into all their amps. its insane! My friend has a 125x2. Pushes 250 RMS, but it actually pushes out 450 watts of pure heaven. Man.

hmm got pics?
I know I won't have enough money to buy it now. Maybe towards the end of the summer? Gotta pay off insurance for the year so I wont have to worry about it by August and I don't have a job yet. I'm supposing that since you have 2 DD 15s you know a lot about car audio. Do you have AIM? I'd like to talk to you sometime.

Hey guys. I'm looking for a mono amp for my subs. I'd like one that can push out 2000w RMS @ 1 ohm for my new sub (which is rated at 1200w RMS but I KNOW it can take more). Any recommendations on what I should get? I'd like to spend less than $500, well, even less than that. But I'll only be able to afford something if I can find a job.
