Did some test fitting today!

Well I finally got my electrical system back up and running. Today I got back to working on the sub enclosures for my 19.Ov's. I basically sanded and applied a layer of bondo glass to reinforce the box.
I wanted to see how much space I would have between the sub magnet and the enclosure. It looks like its gonna be around 1 to 2 inches, MAYBE 3.
I'm still a bit worried about the amount of air space I'm going to have, but from the measurements and everything I took I should clear it. The sub will be a little extended from the point where the face sticks out.
But for now everything is fitting and going as planned.

I'm going to tilt them a little to opposite sides. There was a trick someone on an audio forum mentioned on using with a setup like this I have to look into later. But canceling is the least of my worries lol.

That woofer is capable of moving a lot of air! How is the project going? Did you calculate the necessary enclosure volume based on its Thiele-Small parameters? If the enclosure VAS is too small, the low frequency response will be limited and the driver will require more power to counteract the acoustic suspension of a sealed enclosure. Also, the subwoofer will sound boomy with a large bump at about 80Hz. 3-4 cubic feet is more typical for that size driver (more than half your trunk space).

hey yea... I didnt even really realize that until now...

If your fiberglass enclosure is that small you are definatly gonna run into problems with air space...

Yea i'm working on calculating everything out. I may be able to expand even more to make the 2-Cu requirements. So far it looks good. Its been really cold here so I havent been able to do much more. Since I'm not doing the air suspension I have more space to work with.

Well I only started work on the car last year early 2006. Turbo should be ready very soon. I just need the weather to warm up so i can finish fiberglassing the sub enclosure.

I also need to get a hold of some coilovers.
