I was putting in a new cd player, but found out some fuses were blown, so i changed them, think it would solve my problem with the cd player coming on, it did, but theres another problem. know that the cdplayer comes on, no sound is coming through the speakers. The cd player takes cd's and plays them, but no sound is coming through.
I use a wire harness but no splicing was needed every thing just clipped into place, cdplayer came on after we changed fuse, but no sound is coming out of the speakers
some fords did come with built in amps.. check in the trunk under the deck next to the rear speakers.. if there's an amp-looking box next to the speakers, then that's the oem amp.
There's two reason for your speakers not functioning: either your facotry amp is not working, or the wiring harness you got for the car is wrong, cars that have factory amps usually use a different harness from cars that don't.
You have two choices, you can go and ask if they made an aftermarket harness for your model car with a factory amp, or you can wire the speakers directly off the deck.
I remember we worked on a 1991 Lincolin Mark IIV and we had to use an extra special harness in the back to activate the amplifier.
Now don't forget these are just guesses, I don't know if your car does or does not have a factory amp.
