aww man that sucks. definitely try to get your money back. did you hook the sub up to see what happens? it still might work if only the surround was damaged and then glued but even if it does it still isnt acceptable to rip someone off like that. if he wont refund you, at least try to get him to pay for a recone.

How much would a recone cost? I heard that DD's Customer Service sucks and that they're real assholes about things.

my guess would be like $100 maybe. ive heard the same thing about their customer service but ive also heard the complete opposite. ive got good experiences getting box help through email.

It also wasn't the one I thought it was... he took pics from the website and said it was the same one. The pics were of the 9512 and I got a 9012. Maybe I'll e-mail them and see if I can upgrade to the 9512 or at least get a recone. Do you know how much the 9012 is supposed to cost? the 9512 is like $600 so if I could upgrade to it for like $100 it'd be great.

EDIT: The guy said he'll try to get me a refund from UPS. Then he said that if I send it back he will send me another one that's in perfect condition. Of course I'm a bit skeptical. I e-mailed DD to see if I can get it reconed or upgraded. I guess I'll wait for a response from then before I do anything else.

man that sucks even more. last i checked, dd can only recone to a different size and not a different model. you should contact yours and his local police cuz this would be considered mail fraud. talk to ebay and your credit card company if you used a cc.

I don't know if you read the EDIT from my last post. I paid by debit card so I can't cancel the payment. If I can't get a refund or a replacement and I can't get anywhere through eBay or Paypal then I'll go through the police.

The responce from DD said that I can have it fixed for like $120 + $30 S&H. Don't know if that's worth it. I think I'll pursue a refund, first. The DD folk said that I can't upgrade it to a 9512 but I could stay within the 9012 family. I want a really good competition sub, not just an ok one so I probably won't do that unless I have to.

i had a bad eBay experience with my CD changer (click my banner for more details). but i don't think the seller was trying to pull a quick one on me though... he was just too dumb to ship it properly and it got damaged along the way.

your case is completely different since he pruposefully lied to you and sent you bunk equipment. hope you can recover your losses.

if you waNT a recone rather than having to go through DD. i know a guy who does DD recones. he is a die hard DD fan. his SN on caraudioforum is "DDMAN"
