4th Generation TC subs

Hey, I would like your guys' opinions on which subs should I pursue for my camry. I was trying to decide if I should go with the alpine type r 12", or tc-1000 12", or 2 tc db 500 12".

Here is the type r - $110
http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/3158
Here is the db-500 -$75 dollar's per sub x 2 = #150
http://www.tcsounds.com/db500.htm
Here is the tc-1000 $119 per sub
http://www.tcsounds.com/tc1000.htm

Now I know these are all bargain subs, but I dont really have the means of getting anything better. Here are the factors I have to consider being able to run enough power to each of these subs, for the type r i'm thinking it would be about 500-600rms. 2 db's I'm thinking about 800 - 1000. And for the tc-1000 I'm guessing around 600ish. Now I have to make sure this wouldn't drain too much power, and since it will be pushing close to or less than 1000W, I'm assuming my alternator and battery should be fine.

But now I kinda just need your guy's advice on whether the 2 db-500's would out perform the single r or tc-1000. So basically which one would be the best for a powerful hit but with a good quality as well. I'm not expecting perfect subs, because really I'm not putting in enough money. But any assistance or direction would be greatly appreciated.

With the right box, a Type-R can get SILLY loud, much louder than the other two (on the dB meter that is) but something tells me you're not only about getting loud...

TC's renowned for solid motors/suspensions and sound quality to back it up, so you can't really go wrong with the db500 or tc-1000... Getting 2 of a sub will only yield you anywhere from a 2-4 dB increase last time I checked so the single TC-1000 may end up being louder, given the right box.

Hope this helps somewhat...

Thanks guys, I would like for my system to become loud but I'm sure it will be plenty loud no matter which of the 2 tc's I get.

Here is my 2 seperate plans
1) Get 2 db-500's, i have yet to decide whether sealed or ported, the site says sealed but in their forums, many people choose to port them instead. I have to do more reasearching about wiring because I think I can get a monoblock and run them parallel at 2 ohms (they are 4 ohm subs) but I have to double check on that and whether you run only half the power at 2 ohms rather than 4.
2) Get 1 tc 1000 and either port or seal and just get a simple monoblock to power it at like 500 ohms.

I assume the 2 will run me at near the same price, option 1 probably will be $150 subs, $250 amp, $100ish for wiring and box if i build it. Option 2 is $120 for sub, $150-200ish for amp, and close to the same for box/wiring.

Would there be better sql with the 2 subs or 1 tc sub? I do want it to be able to get loud, but I would also like it to perform decently cleanly. I guess I was wrong in presuming I could reach the same lvl as a tc - 1000 by having the 2 play at lower levels per sub and clearer...

You can use this site to show you wiring diagrams for ohm loads.

http://mobile.jlaudio.com/support_pages.php?page_id=145

For a single sub, I'd run a 12" TC1000 Single 4 ohm sub, or a DIYMA sub which is also single 4 ohm. http://cgi.ebay.com/Diyma-Sound-Qual...QQcmdZViewItem

They're 117 + 40 shipping on the website. www.diymobileaudio.com

Another good sub for cheap is the Phoenix Gold RSD12.

For an amp, I PM'ed you a deal on ebay I would rec.

Is there a reason why you would pick the single 4 ohm load of the tc-1000 over the dual voice coils?

thanks again for the help with the amp, unfortunately someone snapped it up right before me for 235 + shipping. But that does leave me a bit more time and if i can pick up some extra money, maybe i can even upgrade to a tc-9 but that is still in the air

To match up to the 4 ohm stable load a bridged two channel amp can run on.

If you were to run mulitiple subs, that might change. Check out the link to the JL site for different options.

I prefer to use a Class AB amp, most are going to be 2 channel amps that you bridge and run at 4 ohms, however there are some class ab amps that are stable down to one ohm.
