Help: Stock radio died and now afermarket HU doesnt work, 1992 camry
Hey guys. I got a 1992 Camry XLE and I cant believe how much trouble this radio has been giving me. Heres my story.
The car is in great condition and everything works electronicly. When i got the car the AM/FM and cd player worked great. One nite in the rain i got into the car and all i heard on the FM was a hissing noise. The AM and CD player still worked.
Last week i went to put in an aftermarket head unit but i had the wrong wiring harness, and when i went to hook the radio back up stock, i heard no sound at all from any speaker. No hissing or anything.
I then got the correct wire harness and wired it up today and it still doesnt work. Guess it wasnt the stock radio slowly dying after all.
I checked the fuses, there all good. The radio shows a signal on the FM and the antenna goes up and down. So i dont think its the antenna.
I also enabled and disabled the security numerous times. The radio isnt locked up and the red key light on it isnt flashing.
I have the premium sound system with AM/FM cd player, equilizer, and an amp (stock) under the passanger seat.
What else could it be?
Thanks for the help in advance.
