Yeah it's a little tedious, in my 87 it had 3.5"s in the dash.

I disconnected the front speakers on my car and built door panels that replace the map pocket.

Oz Audio 5 1/4" mid and Lanzar DCT tweet (1" soft silk dome).

wow, that is badass, can i say that? well I dont know what i'll do yet, i'd like to find a component system with a 3/1/2 midrange, but i doubt i'll do that, so i'll piece something together, Do you have a turbo in your camry 88le?

Smallest midrange i've seen in a component set is 4".

I started out with a 4" component set (Lanzar DC 4.1), but they didn't have enough midbass so I upgraded to 5 1/4".

I did. It ran for 2 weeks seeing about 10psi boost then it started smoking out the tailpipe (burning oil) one day.

The rings are shot and a part of the #4 piston is melted. So I decided no more 3S-FTE for me and sold the turbo.

It was definitely faster. Once the turbo spooled (around 2,500 rpm) you can feel it pull all the way to redline.
