Question Amp won't turn on...?

Okay, I hooked up my KX350.2 and got it on last night. Then today I tried to install my new sub and had everything working, but then all of a sudden my amp cut off and would not turn back on no matter what I tried. I even took the remote turn on and hooked it directly to the battey. No fuses are blown or anything like that. Any answers?

Download the manual and check out the troubleshooting section. Recheck all wiring, did you check the amps own fuse? The vendor might have a technical support line.

They may have, but if that is the case wouldn't it have just blown a fuse? And yes, I did check the amp's fuses and they are okay.

I just thought of something....I have a smaller fuse than reccomended. It's a 30 amp and reccomended is 50 amp. Could this be the problem? I mean, it's not blown, but...?

if it's not blown then it should be ok. most common problem is ground got loose.

Alright...the power wire doesn't have 12 volts comming to the amp. Has 12 volts up until my fuse holder. Must have went bad somehow? Oh well, quick trip to Oreillys or Walmart tomorrow and quick fix. Thanks guys.

if the fuse isint broken then take the cap apart and make sure things have good contact.

hopefully it'll be a quick fix.

Sounds like the fuse is blown if you aren't getting power after the fuse. It may look like it isn't blown but it could be. I would go ahead and get the right fuse.

Other things to check for- Is the sub properly matched to the amp? What ohm load sub is it? How is it wired? What headunit are you using and where is your gain set at?

I replaced the fuse holder and upgraded it from a 30 Amp to the reccomended 50 Amp and now everything works peachy. I have a Kenwood headunit, Gain and Bass Boost on the amp both set to about 1/4 of the way, amp is bridged (4Ohm) to a SVC Kicker Comp (4Ohm). Thanks guys for all of your help.
