adding an auxillary jack to my factory radio

Greetings:

I just bought a 2007 Corolla. Unfortunately, there is no 1/8" aux jack for my iPod. I don't want to replace my factory stereo unless I have to, and FM modulators for iPods are poor. I don't want to control my iPod through the stereo, either. I just want to add a 1/8" aux jack to my car, cheaply, so I can go from headphone output to aux input with my $6 radio shack cable. any suggestions?

Well, you can get one of these AUX adapters(http://www.crutchfield.com/S-JJo4QjU...900&I=581DFTOY) for $70 or you can get IPOD adapter(http://www.crutchfield.com/S-JJo4QjU...0&I=581PA12TOY) for $170

Does your corolla have a aux jack to plug into? If so all you need is a double sided headphone jack wire, which is cheap as hell and can be found and any music place I.E. Radioshack...

Inexpensive too, and works a hell of alot better then a shitty FM transmitter

USA Yeah I figured it out

I hope you have the one cd player radio or at least one that is close enough to mine so that this will work, otherwise you could try to adapt it.

CD changer aux

Yeah having a CD changer that is external will use the aux line, but there is a very easy way to splice the wires so you can have separate inputs.

Try this: http://homepage.mac.com/ebones/PhotoAlbum13.html

It was under the Sticky section in the 05+ Tacoma section, in the Modification DIY article.

Not sure if this would work for you... In our cars we have a CD player + changer, radio and tape.

I spliced the wires wired in 4 relays and 2 RCA jacks and ran a switch to the front. At the flip of a switch I was able to go between my aux and cd player.
