Need Help with Remote Wires

I am hoooking up a Panasonic headunit to my 05 tacoma

The panasonic has two blue wire remote hook ups.

I need to hook up an amp and I figured out that I need to hook it up to the remote labeled for the amp power.

My question is regarding the other power ant blue wire. My truck does not have a power antenna, but the wire harness adapter I got from Crutchfield also has a wire marked for the ant. I realize it is probably a universal Toyota harness, but I want to make sure there is not another reaseon why I should hook the two Ant remote wires together.

Also there is a loop from the same blue wire on the toyota harness that connects back into itself in another hole. What is that for?

Hook the blue wire with the white stripe to the amp remote connection.

The blue wire just put some heatshrink or electrical tape over the end so that it doesn't ground on anything.

If your power antenna wire is actualy part of the toyota harness, it is probably the turn on for the amplifier for the antenna. These days most new cars have a small amplified antenna instead of a long mast antenna. Don't just skip over it, but if you don't have a seperate power antenna out from the cd player, then you can splice it in with the amp turn on.

The remote wire, blue wire with white stripe, comes out of the back of the stereo not the wiring harness to the truck. It does not connect to anything on the truck. You attach a piece of wire to that and run it to the amp remote terminal.

When you said Panasonic stereo, you did mean an aftermarket unit and not a Panasonic unit made for Toyota right?

Yes, it is an aftermarket stereo.

I figured out what I needed to do with the blue wire with the white stripe, I was just confused on if the solid blue wire really needed to be connected to anything on my truck. It looks like it does not.

If you don't have a power antenna, just put some electrical tape or heat shrink over the end of the blue wire. You won't connect that to anything.
