Angry Head Unit / Dash Electrical Help

For some inexplicable reason, the power to my Alpine CVA-1005 cuts out every so often when I hit my brake. I have the ebrake/park safety bypass on there also. Help!

Also, I've noticed its just just my radio. My whole dash seems to lose power for a split second, as both my speedo and tach drop for a second. When I turn on my car, it seems to "soft reset" the head unit (meaning that it resets the settings, i.e., bass, treble, volume, etc, but doesn't erase the presets and names).

This whole little issue is aggrevating, and I'm afraid it might turn into a safety issue rather than just a convinience issue if my car loses power while driving Thanks!

LOL...aren't they!

Now get this: its not working still...actually, its even worse now!! Before, I would lose power for a split second...now I lose power to the dash for about 5-10 seconds at a time.

Could a faulty brake light switch be the culprit being that this phenomenon occurs only when I step on the brakes?

Get a multimeter and tap into the ground, ignition and constant wires and see if revving the car or braking affects the reading. Or even have a friend sit with you and test the wires while you drive..
