Question Aftermarket alarm systems -- need suggestions

Fellas, Im doing some very preliminary research of some aftermarket security systems.

This is important seeing as how Im planning to have all my audio installed within the next year .

So .... I need suggestions . I know about the alarms with pagers , etc . I think its a great idea, however, its gonna cost crazy $$$$. Suggestions on places to get them would be nice as well (in the greater Toronto area).

I need something that does the job well, but wont cost a hell of a lot of money installed (for those that dont know , I drive a IS 300).

So post your suggestions on what you've had experience with, and what'd you would recommend and don't recommend (i.e. i dont want a system that is so sensitive that it starts going off when a car with music blarin drives by )

Let me know guys. Thanks

Cobra and Clifford are very good choices. I got an enforcer in my corolla, does its job.

The sensitivity of the system is your choice, every alarm system comes with a dial to adjust the sensitivity on the system, unfortunetly some people turn it on so sensitive that rain drops trigger the alarm.

Now, I would definetly recommend the pager alarms because they have the best features and they do keep you constantly in touch with your vehicle when you're in range, however if you don't want to spend the extra $200 you can always go with the basic system and add your choice of options to it.

There's many security system manufacturers in the world, the manufacturer I would recommend and never had complaints about from customers is Directed Electronics Inc. (DEI). They have been in the business for a really long time and their quality is top notch. They also manufacure most of the bells and whistles for alarm systems.

If you are in the G.T.A. I would definetly recommend you go to Safe & Sound Installations I actually work there but now I'm in the Middle East, I have already forwarded many Toyota Nation members and so far they have been very pleased with the service.

The shop is in Scarborough. And the contact is Moe (416)757-7233 Make sure you mention that you are a member of ToyotaNation and that Ahmed sent you. You can ask them about their recommendations for security systems, tell them exactly what you're looking for and I'm sure they'll be glad to help.

Good luck...

I also recommend DEI (Viper, Hornet, Phyton, etc..)

I use to be a installer at my friends shop and we install Vipers all the time.

Matter of fact I installed a Viper 350HV in my friends Supra awhile back and it works great.

Ahmed Im gonna try to make it down to Safe and Sound this weekend to check things out. Those pager alarms cost way too much, I cant afford them, so thats why I was looking at lower end stuff . To be totally honest, I dont really know everything thats out there in the market, but I need something better than stock, maybe that has ability to tell me if windows are smashed or something (if such a thing even exists

I'm not in any real rush to get an alarm system installed , since I only really need it once my audio stuff is installed, which is probably going to be next year after April

But thanks for the suggestions guys .
