i was wondering which brands/companies make 6X9's that put out decent bass. i know it will never be as good as havin a sub, jus wanted to get some ideas. thnx, y'all!
what do you have up front? and are you looking for a full range 6x9? something that you could pickup locally or do you want something specialized for bass that youd probably have to order online?
and whats your budget? amped or not?

The stock speakers have good bass though they don't play it as accurately as they could.

i only have stock up front so far. im lookin 4 full-range 6X9's that can handle some wattage. but mainly, i want them to handle the bass. that way, i dont have to have a sub box anymore. im not into the big boomy rap like i used to be as a youngsta, ha! i dont wanna spend over $100 for a pair of 6X9 either.
i heard Infinity Kappa n polk dB have huge magnets to handle lots of power n bass, but theyr like $200 a pair, basically the same price as a woofer. so any mid-level 6X9 will do 4 me. thnx again.
If you arent going to amp them, and you arent wanting to get dedicated 6x9's for bass, just go pick up a pair of pioneers. decent quality, good price, you wont get a whole lot of bass out of anything more expensive, not enough for it to be worth it. Kicker 6x9's do pretty good for bass too.

Pioneer is about the best thing your gonna find at your average big box store. dont really see why youd need to amp them for highs, the highs require less wattage than the lows.

Yes agreed... you wont get much if you are using this as your main bass provider, if you dont have an amp.
I recommend finding a cheap used 4-channel off of a car audio forum, that way you can power all your speakers.. or just a cheap 2- channel for the rear... either way they will sound a hell of alot better..
Also I'd like to throw out Polk Audio DB690's... I have them at the moment and they work wonderfully, and actually I'm looking to sell them... let me know if you'd be interested...
I believe sounddomain.com has these still listed, check um out.
