i took the advice of staying away from cheap crap....i bought the 2 pioneer impps for $100 usd....then slod em a lil while ago for 175

my friend sold me his 2 jl audio 10s and kicker amp for 400 (he needed rent money).....they hit hard as a mofo too

Some would argue otherwise but I'd certainly agree they're better than pioneers. Let me say though, most subs are plenty loud for most people, and most people don't really notice differences in sound quality (especially bass). Not everyone cares about SPL, and no one in their right mind should. Better SQ is always a good thing, however.
