Gen5 got my components!

i FINALLY got my component set. they're 6.5", pics later. im thinkin of installing them myself. but i need to make MDF baffles for the front.

if i use 3/4" MDF, will there be enuff clearance for the new midrange? the depth of the speaker is 2.5". holler!

i would go with 1/2. 3/4s might stick out in the front too much when you put your door panel back on.

im gonna make a 2-piece baffle. im gonna use pressboard that will cover the OEM hole. then im gonna glue/attach a 3/4" MDF ring to that template, and mount the mid to that. maybe its hard to picture, but ill include photos when im done.

yeah. 1/2" mdf i think is enough to give your mids a space.
