ohm rating on stock HU

I recently got new component speakers. They are rated for 4 ohms. When I started to remove the stock speakers, the stocks are rated for 6 ohms. Can I use 4 ohm speakers with this headunit? Or will I need to change the HU or get a saperate amp?

4ohm is the standard rating for speakers so I assume your HU can handle that 4 ohm speakers. Some HUs are made to handle 4-8ohm.

Your stock radio might run a little warmer, but it should be fine.

Just wonndering, does the stock HU or other aftermarket HU's have a protection mode, like amps if you connect a 2ohm speaker that is only 4ohm stable?
