Sub Install

OK so i spen 3 hours trying to install my friends system.

WE ran into numerous problems:

1. Factory deck = no rca = high (speaker) level inputs
2. J-body, damn Battery terminal doesn't have a bolt to connect the positive cable
3. Hardly and Ground bolts.
4. NO FUKING tools

So any ways it still doesn't work. High Level Inputs doesn't need the ReM lead wire does it??????????

Well i couldn't figure out why it doesn't work... Any ideas?

im pretty sure the REM wire is what turns the amp on and off with your head unit or ignition..one of the two. I DO KNOW when i hooked my amp up..it didn't work UNTIL i hooked up the damn REMOTE wire.

you (he) really should buy a new headunit\

what did you do about no bolts on the battery? might need to get a wire terminal block thing

If you don't have any RCAs on the back of your factory deck, look for a line output converter, which takes the high-level signal and converts it to RCA. These things are about $30-$40, I think. You only need the REM if you amp says you do. I've got an MTX, and it supposedly has automatic turn-on when it detects a signal from the amp. However, it never powered up consistently until I hooked up the REM to it. You might want to invest in a crimp tool; it'll work wonders for the wire connections.

Well, yea.........I know he should get a HU but he said he don't have money. I put everything in, the signal is coming off his back speakers. Theres voltage across the amp......so just the REM isn't in.

On my AMP, if u use high level inputs u don't need a REM, I have a JBL. but he has a LEGACY .

OK so i guess the REM has to go in, where do i connect it to?

ACC fuse?

Use the accessories fust in the fuse box behind the driver's side change compartment. It's (I believe) 15amps, labelled something like CIG/RAD. Else, you can just use a random fuse that only has power when the ignition is in the ACC position.: I feel for you on the legacy.....

y would u want subs on a factory cd player. my friend has it and it sounds like shit. the rca box was like 30 bucks, and that hooks into the speaker wires. use ur seat cusion bolts as ur ground. as for the battery i am not sure about that. since he doenst have a remote, us ur hanyes manual and find the ignition wire under the dash. if u dont wnat to do that just run that to the battery also
