Python 2-Way Security System with Remote Start (PYTHON871XP)
I might ending up buying Python 2-Way Security System with Remote Start (PYTHON871XP) in the future. I was wondering if the bypass or transponder for would be higher than the actual product. I went to Circuit City today and they told me it was going to be around $400 for it !!! It can't be that high can it? They charge $160 to install which is OK, but I can find someone who would do it cheaper.
WTF the 2-Way Security System $379, the installation $100+, the bypass $400
I'd be paying almost $1000 for the whole thing, but I might just downgrade to the PYTHON571XP or PYTHON1400XP

Hey! It ain't much to beat the block down, but it'll work for now...
Assuming your car is an automatic, it doesn't require a baypass module. Toyota did not start putting transponder keys into the camry until 2004. And those bypass modules are $50 at the most (usualy less, more like 25), i think what they meant is with the bypass the hardware would be $400 (alarm plus extras).

Um, if it's the 1992 in your sig, you shouldn't need a bypass, unless of course you have a manual, then it's a whole nother ball game as you need something called a nuetral saftey switch so you don't start the car in gear. I worked as an installed for CC for a while, and while some people are biased to places like CC and best buy, your install is only as good as your installer. I have done great installs, and fixed installs that have been done at private shops. so it's all jsut a toss up,m if your unsure as the the quality, talk to the installer when you drop off the car. Don't be afraid to ask questions like "where are you going to mount the siren?" or "How do you plan to run the wires through the firewall?" The way he/she answers the question will give you great insight into how tallented the installer really is.

The range of the transmitter is controlled by two things primarily, the placement of the antenna, and codehoping technology. The placement of antenna is crucial. If you have tint, make sure you did not get metalic tint as that will cut transmission signifigantly. Also codehoping technology requires a longer transmit burst. by turning it off, in theory you can get some extra distance out of it, but at the cost of added security in that hte code doesn't change each time you use your device.
Components can be added to the system (extra sensors, window modules) but this would be considered custom work. The impac sensor is a small recangular device made of clear plastic (you can see the components inside). When i do instalations, i mount it directly to a frame rail as those carry the most vibration through a car. I have no idea where your installer mounted it, you may want to just have them adjust it.

I don't know, but i do know that it should have a little LED on it that lights up when your testing it with the system disarmed. I'm sure if you google around you hsould be able to find the answer
