Which car stereo do you own having the best tuner reception for Camry LE?

Greetings:

Which of the following brand (Alpine, Clarion, Pioneer, Kenwood, JVC, Sony etc) and its corresponding model do you own, having the best tuner reception for a 1999 Camry LE? Effectively, living in NJ, I often listen to one particular station NJ101.5 (I rarely listen to CD and Tape). The reception is so deceiving (getting worse days by days) with my current factory install Toyota one CD and tape consol. The static noise is mixed with the talkshow making the hearing unbearable and 60%~70% of the time I hear other station as well. Is there a way to improve the reception or should I change the Car stereo to a better one.

Please note the antenna may be the culprit, since it is integrated in the rear windshield.

Any kind of help and feedback is greatly appreciated.

Well, for one, before you buy a new tuner, check out all your connections. If you believe its your antenna (which it was for mine), try to replace that (considering an antenna is cheaper then a new tuner) . So after all that, if nothing really changes, try changing up the tuner. Pretty much any name brand has its own "reception enhancement system", i personally have a kenwood kdc-mpv-619, it does me good. pretty much anything alpine is typically great, or even the pioneer units work great. just do your homework and read some reviews about the differnt units, you should find the information you are looking for. if all else fails, theres always xm. good luck.

Alpine 9807 mp3 deck
i live in kearny, NJ and i get great reception for 92.3 95.5 100.3 101.5 103.5 and 104.3
kearny is east of newark, so im not so far off from long island to get good reception either.. i can see the NYC skyline from here

like drdave said maybe its your antenna.. maybe water has seeped down into the hole and is eroding the wire/connection
check all the antenna components/cabling first then try a decent deck

You've somewhat answered your own question. Although glass mounted antenna are good for using less parts, but the reception isn't as good, even with diversity, compared to a motorized/stationary antenna. If you have tint on the window, the reception will be worse. There's always satellite radio like XM and Sirius.
