Dual headunit, One audio system

Right now I have a Pioneer DEH-P880PRS installed. I absolutely love the way I can customize the EQ. However I am currently looking into getting a A/V headunit as well.

So to combine the two systems together, I just splice an extra set of harness (going to the A/V unit) into the existing harness (going to the DEH-P880PRS)??

And I am assuming it won't be a good idea to turn on both unit at the same time because it will draw too much power, and feed too much power to the speakers.

Any suggestiong is greatly appreciated!!!

He is asking because he wants to hear the sound from when he is playinf dvd's but he doesnt want to get rid of his radio...

It sounds like you just need to get a screen or two man then you can just run the rca's from the screen to the headunit in order to hear the sound.

there of mind you head unit probably does not play dvd's. I am in the same situation, and the only thing i could think of would be to run a dvd play by putting it in the glove box and running my screen/screens from it and hook the audio cables to the head unit so that i coud watch the movies and have it play through the speakers.

I hope that was not to confusing. But you can buy a small dvd player from wally world that can be hooked up in the car or even better yet you could run the rca's from your radio to your glove box and just plug the portable dvd player in whenever you want to watch movies. That would be a cool way to go ... humm i might just do that lol so i do not always have to the screen in my car.

JayMax03, I want to keep both headunit because I like the EQ customization of my DEH-P880PRS (16-band EQ), while most (if not all) A/V/NAV unit out there only have 3-band EQ. That is why I want to keep the DEH-P880PRS to use when I play my music, and just use the A/V/NAV unit when I/passengers are watching movies or when using the NAV function.
