Choosing an alarm

I have two questions on car alarms.

I checked the factory wiring diagram of a 99 Corolla and a 99 Camry. The pinout of the factory theft deterrent ECU are mostly identical except for the lead for starter relay (meant for starter disable) - 99 Camry have immobilizer system. The 2 connectors are identical. When I checked on 1sttoyotaparts, a replacement theft deterrent ECU for Camry is under $100, but the one for Corolla is like $260 Anyone know of any difference between the two? Can I use the 99 Camry one on my Corolla? If I am able to score these units, how do I go about getting the remote and have it programmed?

Also I checked the diagram as well as an instrument cluster. It seems like tachometer, power locks and power windows are exclusive to factory theft deterrent system. Is it possible?

If I am going aftermarket, which alarm system is the best? I want to be able to arm and disarm the system just by using my key to lock and unlock the doors as well as from the remote, have starter disable that I can expand to disable fuel pump as well, perhaps ignition too, turning it into an immobilizer system. I will be doing my own installation.

The Viper Alarms are usually considered to be some of the best. However it is a rather difficult install. THis was the only think that I didnt install on my own car.
