new deck with factory sub

well im gonna be helping my buddy install a deck into his honda pilot. we have a deck. were going to buy a dash kit and the wiring harness. installing is simple but the thing im worried about is the Factory sub he has. If i hook up everything correctly would the factory sub still work? or does the factory sub have its own signal from the factory deck.

anyone knwo anything about this ? thanks in advance

It would all depend on how its wired. I would google, or look around on the honda forums to see what the deal with that is.
