4th Generation requesting Gen 4 camry tweeter placement picture

Hi, I need some idea of where to put the tweeters when installing a component speaker set. I really want to mount them on the sail panel but I think the area is too small. post some picture of your setup if you can help, Thanks !

I installed the tweeter on the sail panel. You have a small margin for error. Hence I could only live with one of the 2 front tweeters I installed. The one I took off was just too close to the pillar when closing the door.

You have the oem tweeters in the dash board adjacent to the windshield. It is bigger size than the tweeter in any component set.

That's a popular place to put it, mine are 1" tweeters, so I had to file them down a bit to make them fit nicely. It's recommended to put some sound dampening material behind them as well.

Gen 4 tweeters

Do you have any details on the wiring of these tweeters, or where you bought them? Are they crossed over to the front door speakers, or is there a seperate channel from the upgraded CD/cassette combo F-10 radio?

They are part of my component set from CDT, they are CDT EF-61s, with 1" silk dome tweets. They did come with a crossover and are powered by an amp in the trunk.

looks like 1" is the perfect size. thanks for the pictures !

what did you use to cut that sail panel ?

did you choose the sail panel because it looks better or actually sound better vs. tweeter on the door panel?

Thank you

Just managed to install a set of Focal 165V2 comp speakers in my Gen4 Camry. I took out the OE tweeter from the sail panel, use back the metal bracket and stick the Focal tweeter (2 sided tape) to the bracket and all done. At the same time sound proof the door too.

Now speakers sound much better than OE's.

Eh! when you filed those side posts down did you happen to run into any kind of metal behind it? on mine when I take it off there is metal on the driver when you try to put the tweeter in.
