what are the chances of getting a ticket for playing movie DVD while car is moving?
(on the front navigation screen)

I do realize that it's not safe because the driver may see the screen. However, I'm planning
to make a shield so the driver cannot possibly see the nav screen.

Similar to this hood below. I will cut off parts of the right side so the front passenger can
see it. The only way the driver can see the screen is if he/she leans over all the way into
the passenger side.

Depends on if the cop can see it or not. It is illegal in some places like California so you should take a look at your state or local vehicle code.

I got stopped once before because I was using my laptop for navi and the screen is 14.1" big and fairly visible and bright.
