Amp/Subs need time to get goin?

I've got 2 Kicker dual voice coil 4-ohm 8" subs in a sealed box (paralleled wired ). They're hooked up to a Kenwood KAC-9103D mono amp. I've got 8-gauge power/ground wires feeding my amp. Something really weird happened to me this weekend. I started my car, the amp light turned on, and I felt the sub box vibrating. The sound coming from the box was a little weak. I drove off and about 5-10 min later my subs kicked in and they just started thumping! I was impressed by the sound, and actually had to turn down the bass levels. I drove around for about 45 min enjoying the sound. I parked the car and left it for a couple of hours. I got back, started up the car and the same thing happened. The system was on, but it was not cranking out the bass like it was before I parked the car. But about 5-10 min into the drive home, they picked up and thumped hard again. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Check all of your power ,ground, and speaker connections.

It sounds like you might have a cold solder joint on the amp somewhere, and as it heats up (or gets jiggled enough) it eventually makes its connection. It could do this for years, or could go out tomorrow. If the gear is under warranty, take it in, if not find a competent local repair shop, it should be a cheap fix.
