4th Generation Help

Hi
I own a 4th gen (1998) Toyota Camry.
I just finished installing JL Audio 250/1 with JL Audio 12w6v2.
I also currently have an Alpine Ida-x001 as the headunit.
My problem is that When i tried to start up the car with the Subwoofer, my car dies.
I recently installed new battery.
Without the Subwoofer it starts fine.
Do I need to buy a capacitor?
Thanks

Sounds like your losing power at the ground or something... but if that was the case you would hear the engine bogged considerably when you went to start it without the sub anyways.

Make sure to check all your wiring over, and set your gains properly.

Also.. Capacitors are worthless. Consider the Big 3 tho

Try using the key, it fits in the ignition better

Seriously, triple check all of the battery and ground connections, I bet thats where the prob is.

I'm with CorollaCcrazy, caps are not all that useful, and cetainly wont fix a non-starting car.

I will try my best to explain.
I bought a 8 AWG Rockford install kit.
Connected power to positive of battery to my amp.
Connected the Ground to my trunk to Amp.
Connected Remote from my Alpine to Amp.
And Connected my RCA from my Alpine to Amp.
I am not sure on how fully the battery was charged, I drove it about 4 hrs before testing.
I got this battery about two months ago. ( its a kirkland if that matters )
With the amp and subwoofer connected, the car wont even start, but once taken out, the car will start up ( Sometimes I have to jump the car to get it started )
Do I have to sand down the paint to baremetal for the ground wire?
Thanks

might as well try that as well as getting ur battery and alt tested if you're only running 250w it should be easy, i am running at a least 600rms all the time with no problems like that

Question

Yes, sand or scrape down to bare metal for your ground. (although this will not help your starting problem)
Did you buy the amp new, has it ever worked?
Did you make sure your battery connections are tight?
Did you pound on the battery connection? (I have seen this screw up internal connections in the battery causing the car to not start)
Does it matter if the amp is playing loudly or just turned on at min volume?

Check the length of your ground wire. Check the old connections going from the alt to the battery.

Check the terminals on the battery make sure they are clean and secured.

yes you need to sand till you see bare metal.
