ALright, #1 it is ... do i have to use a specific electrical wire to run from the switch to the HU or can i even use a telephone wire ... got awhole bunch of it?
From the switch to the HU, is there a place where i can attach the switch wire or will i have to splice/solder it into the antennae remote wire?
And, how do i get my HU out without disconnecting it all, to attach the switch wire?
And once i disconnect my battery to connect my amp power wire, i will have to go to the dealer to get the security code for the HU?
Is there a DIY on running amp wire to the trunk, ie. how to remove inside panels, slip wire through existing firewall hole, removing carpet, etc.?

Go to an autoparts store or stereo shop and get some 16 or 18awg stranded wire (phone wire, assuming that you have the in-wall stuff, is a solid conductor, and that won't go well with the vibrations in a car).

Anywhere that you want. You will have to splice into the wire. My fav way is to strip off a 3/4" section of insulation(without cutting the wire), poke a pick tool (or whatever) thru the middle of the strands, push the wire that you are attaching thru the strands, and then twist-solder-and tape. If you don't have a friction stripper you can strip the wire with a razor blade.

I think it would be easier to just unplug the deck, but whatever you want to do.

Sorry, not a Gen3 guy. Don't know this one.

Have not seen a diy, but have seen mention that Gen3's (and 4's) have a nice big grommet on the drivers side beneath the splash guard lining the front wheel well. Pull as many of the screws-clips out of the backside of the wheel well liner as you need to to expose the grommet and cut a liitle slit in the grommet and run the wire thru there.
Hope this helps.

i dont know... iw as going to put it where there are cut outs molded into the dash... but goddamn i dont want to cut that out! ... so i might just stick it in just left to center stack ... where there is a space b/w the front panel and middle panel...
I'm not sure what you are not clear on yet, so I hope this is not insulting.
OK sooooo
1. Pull deck out
2. Splice into antenna remote wire (directed lists 2 possibilities:black/red and pink/blue)
with some of the wire that you have and run it down to where your switch is.
3. Connect the wire that you just ran to one side of the switch, and connect another wire that you will run all the way back to the amp to the other connecter on the switch.
4. Drink beer, you are done.

lol thanks man ... i know the questions sound dumb... but honestly, i aint that dumb, i drive a camry ! lol
i know all that stuff man, but what i mean is... where the hell should i exactly position my switch .... like when i attach the wire from the switch to the antennae... obviously it doesnt run 'into' the back like all the other wires... im going to have to pull it through to the front at some point ... and i was wondering... for that to happen, where would the best place for the swtich be and how to exactly run it to the front of the car...
spliced my switch wire into the cigarette lighter ... ran it behind the HU down the passenger side ... remote wire back to amp ....
any placement suggested for power wire in engine bay? i ran it against the firewall.. but im coming up short a bit, im going to have to pull it through.. but i just twist tied it to what i think is the throttle line for now.. is that ok for temp. use?
