subwoofers popping???
I didn't think much about this until yesterday, but my subwoofers started popping it was only for a little bit. In case any1 doesn't know I had an car accident 2 Fridays ago; my drivers side headlight, bumperlights, cornerlight, and some part of my fender is bented up. My headlamps still works, but the rest of the lights don't work anymore I think the wires might have been stripped. Anyway I was driving home and my subs were playing just fine then they started phazing in & out then there was some popping sounds. I pulled on the side of the road and checked some things out and here's what I noticed...
1. Inline fuse - the plastic part of it is cracked and the fuse is jumping I mean isn't it suppose to be a tight fit where it shouldn't move? its a 70 amp fuse just incase it comes up
2. Amp - when I stopped it when into protection mode for 5 minutes flat. I turned the car off the turned it back on it came back on. It was hot to the touch. It rained when the sun went down so the sun could something to do with it. All of it happened at daybreak (around 2:00 to 5:00)
3. My voltage used to drop at moments notice but now I start the car up its 14.5v and after a while it goes down at 13.8v. It used to drop at 11.9v, but ever since that accident... I don't know??? My lights stopped dimming now, but that still worries me.
4. At one point of the time there was I guess a power boost like I had a CAP installed (which I don't have) and then I thought one of the subs had blown. I checked there still playing fairly well. Thats when the popping started...
I have a 4 gauge power cable and 4 grounding cable (grounded under the bench seats)
(TMA TAK4 amp kit)
If I notice anything else I'll post it up...
I just want to know before something actually does go wrong never can be too careful you know!!!
