very nice install! i've always thought about doing this, jus so I culd get the sound/volume of a pair of 12's, w/o having to take up trunk space with a big box.
i'm assumin u sealed the rear deck and the baffle side as much as possible. so im wondering how it sounds, considering that facing a normal box frontwards has some bass/phase cancellations.
and what did u use as a template to cut the baffle board?
great job once again. i will def look into this IB install myself again.
The rear deck & baffle was sealed using deadening. These drivers require a rather large enclosure if sealed or ported, they're IB capable according to eD.No cancelation issue either,I have them running in reverse phase just by a flip of a switch on the amp.I used some poster board for a template then traced the shape onto the MDF.

Big Lou,
i'm diggin ur setup. my other question is...Is the baffle board in front or behind the sheet metal opening? or is it flush?
and ur amp. i'm assuming its mounted to some MDF under the rear deck, yes?
btw, do u lose any volume when the rear seats are up and covering the sub?
The baffle is behind the opening, a piece of MDF cut to the size of the amp was secured to the reardeck then the amp secured to that. There's a just a slight difference in output w/ or w/o the seats down but still happy with the output all things considered.

big lou,
ok, some final questions...so the baffle is behind the opening...how did u attach it to the surrounding sheet metal?
i'm guessin L-brackets at the top and bottom?
and maybe bolts through the sheet metal around the sides?
i'm ready to start this project this weekend, so please holler back!

L-brackets at the base of the baffle,I used three total(watch out for the gas tank-PLEASE!) & sheet metal screws thru the sheet metal itself into the baffle around the sides & top.The baffle is sealed off with deadening, good luck.
just wondering, how did you mount the wood under the rear deck? i've always wanted to do that but im scared that it would support the weight of my amps.
