Need help with audio installation

Hello everyone, I have 92 Paseo and I'm having difficulties installing a basic cd player in the car. I bought the Toyota harness kit which makes it easier to connect everything. Everything is connected but it doesnt work, Cd player doesnt even turn on. I'm just wondering does this car have amplified speakers? or what could of I done wrong so that it doesnt work, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Is the CD player you are installing new and if not are you sure it was working before? Either way the first thing I would check is the fuse in the new radio, then the radio fuse in the fuse box and if they are fine check to make sure the harness is plugged in solidly to each other as well as the back of the radio. Just had another thought, you do have the key in the "accessory" or "on" position don't you? (I know it sounds trivial but I have overlooked that a time or two myself )

Also check your power wire, ground and accessory wire. I remember I left out that accessory wire once.
