Question Need Some Help With Wiring

I have 2 MTX subs. Both have only 1 4ohm voice coil. I was wondering how do i wiring them to run at 4ohms? If I can't do that, how can i run them at 2 ohms? I am hooking them up to a Rockford Fosgate 250a2 and it makes more power bridged at 4 ohms. Any info would be great! Thanks.

You will never be able to run 2 4-ohm subs @ 4-ohm when there is only a single voice coil on each. You are left with a 2-ohm load (parallel), or 8-ohm load (series). Check whether the RF amp can handle 2-ohm mono, since that translates to 1-ohm stereo. My guess is that it probably will be able to run them, albeit, a bit warmer. Just make sure there is good ventilation.

I'm pretty sure the amp can handle 2ohms but not bridged at 2 ohms. Right now the way i have it hooked up is each speaker is connected to its own terminals. Then from the terminals i hooked up positive from both sides to each other and negatives to each other. So the 4 wires merge into 2. Then i plugged them into the amp. I dunno if that's right but the RF is way too damn powerful for the subs. They hit so hard with the bass boost down all the way.

What you have wired up is 2-ohm stereo, which is the same as 4-ohm mono. In the past, RF amps have been able to run 2-ohm mono, though it isn't recommended by them. You can always turn the gain down since the subs are too loud for the rest of the speakers.
