He has a burnt voice coil, not a split in the rubber surround, the two are totally different.

Unfortunately, "fixing" a voice coil isn't something that's easily done since it's the copper wires that need to be replaced. You should contact Audiobahn directly and go from there.

they are different but can be fixed the same way. a recone changes all moving parts in a sub which includes the vc.

Is there any place that sells just the voice coil, i took everything out of the frame and it's still in tack, all i need is the voice coil...if i would have played it any longer it would have caught fire...

you cant just buy a vc and put it in there because it has to be perfectly centered in the gap. sending it in to audiobahn is your only choice if you want to keep that sub.

You sure you didnt play it with an amp too small powerwise? That easily burns out the voicecoil as when it starts clipping it would make the voice coil heat up and fast.

all i know is that the voice coil is burned, i need a recone kit, i can do the job myself,, if i bought the speaker already blown for 20 bucks,thinking i can fix it,, will audiobahn take it...
