4th Generation 2001 Camry XLE changing HU??

I recently got to acquire a mint 01' Black XLE, Thing is the JBL speakers are really loud, but no bass and is kind of distorted at loud volumes. I was thinking of changing the head unit for a simple pioneer or panasonic. Thing is, will my over-all performance from the stock speakers be better from a new HU? Will i still be able to keep the factory tweeters with the new HU? And is it worth the upgrade?

All im planning to do is just change the HU, and the retain all of the factory JBL speakers. I just wanted to know if it would be worth it, or would i just be better off with the stock HU?

Personally I'd say you wouldnt notice an improvement, and in most cases you might actually see a decrease.

When I tried it I didnt think it sounded a whole lot different with the new headunit, but some say it made it worse and this is because the front speakers are 2ohm instead of 4ohm like normal.

I say just keep the stock headunit unless your upg. the speakers too.

I actually put in my Clarion head unit today and kept all my stock speakers. What a difference it made. So much more control and settings for your speakers. Go for it IMO

That is probably not such a good idea because the JBL system speakers are typically 2 Ohms and aftermarket headunits are usually made to work with 4 Ohm speakers.
