An aftermarket HU will take maybe 30 minutes with someone who's familiar with your car.
Door speakers are fairly easy and probably take 1-2 hours. Rear speakers are a pain in the ass and probably take just as long.
If you're putting the amp and sub in the trunk, it will take maybe an hour two to run the wires to the trunk and longer if you need to run wires to the front speakers.
If you are doing this yourself without prior experience, expect that it'll take you 1.5 to 2 times as long as I stated above.
i would def put aside at least 8 hrs split between 2 days for all that. reason being is that if this is your first time, you are bound to run into problems that will eat up your time, ie: getting panels off, running the right length of wire, etc.
the first day i would just remove all necessary panels and run all your wiring. then next day is when you can make your final connections and test everything out. let us know what exactly your experience is and what u have done and what needs to be done and we can guide you through it
yeah I'm a noobie and I did install my own system which took me 3 days tops. I already knew how to take off the door panel and the back seat was hell-in-hot water. I don't know why did it take me that long. I did mess up the first time so I took my Camry to a place called Sounds Great and they told me with the HU I got I needed to hardwire it and I don't know how to do that. How do you do that anyway?

Hey! It ain't much to beat the block down, but it'll work for now...
umm.. you do NOT want to hardwire your HU at all costs.. that means cutting into your factory wiring as opposed to using a harness and wiriing it up that way. do u have pics of your new unit? if they are telling you you have to hardwire it, they must be an iffy shop(unless your unit is already hardwired)..
I used to have the Pioneer DEH-P80MP HU I still do (still works too), but thats when I let circuit city install mine at the time. I take some pics of it later on. I have the DEH-P7800MP now.

I know its a bad pic, but I took it with my cellphone and send it to my email.
That's Circuit City's wiring job I know I could have done much better than that.

The stereo is going into your stock 92 Camry right and I am assuming you don't have the JBL system?
You should be able to use a wiring harness to put the new aftermarket stereo in if you just disconnected the wire harness rather than clipped the wire in your Camry to take the P80 out. Take a photo of the wires laid straight out the best you can. Unless Circuit City clipped your wires, I don't see why the 7800 needs to be hard wired.
yea need some more pics and info.. what is the current status of your car aka what is hooked up and run? i hope that CC didnt cut your factory wires, that would be such a hack job..
no no that is what I use to have in my car now I have the 7800mp, but the thing is I don't know why they had to hardwire the P80MP. I'll take some more pics later right now I'm sleepy...

most places do free install when you buy from a store... even still i'd pay the money to do it... most people that do installs kno where to plug wires but don't kno why... or how to calulate amperages... and current draws and voltage drops that a professional install will do.
like everything else there is a way to do it and there is a way to do it right

i have to disagree with that. im not a professional but i feel i do close to professional work. Its all a matter of learning and it takes minimal electrical and common knowledge to do it right
