Alright, plenty of discussion so far on this topic, I've searched and could grave dig a bit but figured I'd strike a new discussion with the hopes of people giving better input then in the threads I've searched for. Maybe these are a bit more specific then some of the other threads.

Ok first thing!
I know the Metra kit is available for a DD aftermarket HU which I've seen to be nice, just that I do enjoy the button placement and backlit of the stock HU. I really want the capability of BT, DVD, and Reverse Camera. Nav I'm not worried about since I opted for a portable unit since I travel a lot.

So outside of the 'Roadwire' aka Valor Media OEM-Style headunit that's out there, if I did go with an after market DD headunit, does anyone have any recommendations that would satisfy bt, dvd player, inputs, and reverse camera. I'm not looking to drop 900+ on an avic or eclipse since I feel like I'm losing out on the 'oem-style' look, this would have to be a rather cheap investment in the event that I want to swap back to the OEM headunit.

Where to on an 07 Camry? I've seen those license plate cameras but for the life of me, I worry someone can just unscrew it and run off with the cam. I live in NYC, something like this will most probably happen. NYC as in Manhattan, not NYC as in outskirts suburbia with private/dead streets!

Also if I do plan to DIY, I presume there are special wiring instructions for activating the reverse cam when I shift into R? or is this something governed by the HU/wire harness?

Appreciate some responses, hope I don't get any criticism for 'creating yet another camry thread'

I think you should check out the Eclipse AVN-6610. I just bought one for $999 from a local shop. The AVN-5510 can be bought a lot cheaper.

The reverse cam mounting looks like it'll fit for your vehicle, not so much for mine.

I'm still out there looking for options, anyone have ideas? anything innovative yet stealth enough to not get stolen. Again I considered the license plate frame cam mounting but living in nyc, chances are that'll get jacked in no time.
