for the options you want, especially touch screen, you will not be able to buy a unit out there that is not a jensen or pyle for your price range. look on ebay for the kenwood ddx line. the base units can be had refurbed around 500, 515 shipped.

stick with either Alpine/Pioneer/Kenwood/Clarion/Eclipse units if you shop around you could find some for $500-600

Your options will be very limited at that price point but it is doable.

I'm a fan of Kenwood/Alpine headunits but I know many of my friends who has Clarion units that work quite well also
The Pioneer/Alpine indash dvds are quite expensive and the Alpines needs a bypass adapter inorder for the video to continue playing while in D, i bought myself a Kenwood indash off sonic electronix and it was great & cheap, they also gave me free wire harness and a pocket

search around tho you can find cheaper prices than the ones on Crutchfield, etc that sells everything for retail pricing. many sites will give you what you'll need for the installation

i was in tweeter the other day talking to a guy about the dvd units, if you want to play movies while the car is moving, id shy away from some alpines, apparently they have a gyro meter in the unit to sense if the car is moving or not.

i saw that 400 dollar dvd unit in walmart to, but it was a dual brand, so i may actually go out and buy it after xmas of coarse, but maybe
