I have a Diamond Audio amp pushing out 400 watts 4 ohm bridged. I have a couple questions related to Sound.
I'm thinking of getting either the Elemental Designs 13 kv.2 or the 13 ov.2.
What are the differences between those besides the $75?
Also, which would you recommend? Isn't there a forum discount? I forgot it
I am using a line out converter? To tap into the rear speakers, what would you recommend as a clean way to do it? The source plug from the Radio, plugs into the rear speaker, how would I go about this?

from what i have seen done without changing the unit is the line out converter, which waht you did. unless they came out with something new.

In my 98 Avalon XLS I had a line out converter with stock head unit and it worked well for about 6 months then yesterday I bought a Pioneer for better sound and more control over the subs. It is much better, and the old when started skipping with CD's and everything because they aren't meant to handle the subs, its the truth. Get an after market HU.
That's cool....yeah, I admit that most aftermarket head units are pretty jumbled up...and they usually don't match anything else in the car...lol...well, i suppose they just look 'aftermarket.'
You would hope that a new head unit would make all of your speakers sound much better, cause afterall, the reputation of the manufacturer rests on performance, which is not the case of the maker of the stock head units. Basically for the stock units, the auto maker submits requirements to hundreds of electronics makers with a few details (four channel, stereo sound, am/fm, cd player, possibly satellite connectivity, etc...) and they take the lowest bid...probably around 10-30 bucks a unit. Whereas a $100 Pioneer or a $150 Alpine is going to blow the stock units out of the water with features and performance...
But, then again, the stock unit fits the flow and design of the interior...tough decision...
$850 on an amp? what kinda of amp is it? but you can get a aftermarket HU to go with the flow. I.E. color of the trims and the color of the display. Yes getting a new HU will improve the sound quality for all the speakers. but it doesnt always work that way.
here my Camry with a pioneer 3900MP HU

Yep, I have the Pioneer 3900 as well much better than stock. Speakers sound amazing, but I don't know what kind yours came with. Makes everything much better quality and louder.
mine came with the "JBL 6 CD changer speaker system".
As far as I have read on it, the actual HU is not JBL but the speakers are. I looked behind the speakers to find out they're 25W speakers?
i hooked up my system today, and one of the fuses near the battery were
1. either blown already
2. blew when I hooked it up x_x'
The amp also has its own fuse AND I have ANOTHER inline fuse on the power line next to the amp.
What could have caused this thing to blow?
Also, could I use a 60 amp fuse instead of the 40 amp fuse? They were sold out at radio shack of the 40.
The one in the amp is a 40 amp, and the one next to it is also 40.

did you disconnect the negative battery terminal when you were hooking up the system?
you can have a short somewhere in the circuit, the ground/power wries are not getting good/loose connection. if you are talking about the fuse on the amp, then i would go with what it came with or is suggested. that way if your running a bigger fuse which might burn out the circuits on the amp itself before the fuse blows or vice versa.

No, I didn't disconnect the negative battery terminal, I hope that's what it is.
I'm pretty sure everything is still connected. I don't see why not.

I really didn't pay attention in physics, x_x'

lol. its all good. yeah you probably just have shorted it out. yeah you can run a 60 amp fuse. im taking it as its a 4 channel amp. if you can you can go with 80 amp fuse if you like.
